LittleLink ID is a safeguarding platform designed for childminders in the UK. It stores important child information and makes key emergency details available when needed, while limiting what is shown publicly.
The system is designed so that only the information needed in an emergency is displayed on the public profile.
How information is limited on the public profile
When a child is checked in, the public profile does not show full child details. Instead, LittleLink ID limits what is visible by using:

How information is limited on the public profile
When a child is checked in, the public profile does not show full child details. Instead, LittleLink ID limits what is visible by using:
- initials instead of full names
- age bands instead of full dates of birth
- blurred photos instead of original images
- limited emergency information only.

This helps reduce the amount of identifiable information shown publicly.
Internal information stays internal
Some details are stored for safeguarding and internal use only, but do not appear on the public profile.
For example:
Emergency access without full data exposure
When a child is checked in, the public profile can still provide useful emergency information such as:
This means the system can support emergency situations without sharing more than necessary.
Contact privacy
LittleLink ID also protects phone numbers through a masked calling system. This means emergency calls can be made through the public profile without either person seeing the other’s private number.
Why this matters
The aim is to balance two things:
Good to know
Children only appear on the public profile when they are checked in. Once they are checked out, or auto-checkout removes them later, they are no longer shown publicly.

When a child is checked in, the public profile can still provide useful emergency information such as:

- blurred photo if enabled
- allergies or important information
- emergency contact access.
