How masked calling works

LittleLink ID includes a masked calling system for emergency contacts shown on the public profile. This is designed to keep phone numbers private while still allowing calls to be made when needed.

Why masked calling is used
The system is designed so that neither party sees the other person’s private phone number. This helps protect both the caller and the emergency contact.

How it works
When someone presses the Call button on an emergency contact in the public profile:

1. the caller receives an incoming call from LittleLink ID’s service number
2. once they answer, the system places the outbound call to the emergency contact
3. the emergency contact also sees the service number, not the private caller number.
   

This means both sides communicate through the LittleLink ID calling service rather than directly.

What the caller sees
Instead of seeing the emergency contact’s private number, the caller interacts through the platform’s masked calling route.

What the emergency contact sees
The emergency contact also does not see the private number of the caller. They see the LittleLink ID service number instead.
