How to check a child in and out

Once your card is active and a child has been approved, you can start checking children in and out using LittleLink ID. This controls which children appear on your public profile and makes sure only current emergency information is visible when needed.
You can check children in and out from the dashboard or from the Children page.

- the child must have been reviewed and approved
- your account must have at least one active card.

How to check a child in
To check a child in:
- Go to the dashboard or the Children page
- Find the child you want to check in
- Click Check In.

If the child has any required medication recorded on their profile, LittleLink ID will show a reminder so you can confirm that the medication is with the child before continuing.

Once checked in, the child will appear on your public profile linked to the active card.

When the child leaves your care, go to the dashboard or Children page and click Check Out next to their name.

- the child’s initials
- their age band
- a blurred photo, if one has been added and allowed to show
- allergies or important information
- emergency contact options.
This makes important emergency details available in a more privacy-conscious way.
How to check a child out
When the child leaves your care, go to the dashboard or Children page and click Check Out next to their name.

Once the child has been checked out, they are removed from the public profile and their emergency details are no longer shown publicly.

If a child is not checked out manually by the end of the day, LittleLink ID can remove them from the public profile automatically if auto-checkout is enabled. The system will send a reminder email at 9:30pm before automatic removal.
This helps make sure children are not left visible on the public profile overnight.
Common things to check
If you cannot check a child in or out, first check:
